"COVID cases are on the rise in nursing homes."
This is true. A seasonal rise in cases of respiratory diseases like COVID-19 and the flu is expected, with more cases in the fall and winter months. COVID-19 cases in nursing homes have increased by 392% from July to November. Nursing home residents are at a higher risk of getting seriously ill from COVID-19 but vaccination can help protect against severe sickness, hospitalization and death. CDC data shows that 31% of nursing home residents and 7% of staff have received the latest COVID-19 vaccine.
